My paintings are often inspired by photographs. I was privledged to drum one fine day in June with this group of Columbus drummers. We drummed in front of what is called the Van Gogh mural in the Short North Columbus Ohio during Gallery Hop 2006. That mural has since been covered over by a restaraunt, and one of my drum friends is now in drum heaven. The weather was perfect, and the day was exquisite. I made the painting to honor that day and those drummers by inserting them into my painting Three Kool Katz (private collection).
